One hank of rope, one type of knot! This piece is part of an exploration of how a single knot (clove hitch) can create shape, texture and structure.
The ends - so many rope ends - are individually 'whipped,' or wrapped, with wool string to add a pop of color and prevent fraying.
The weight, softness and texture -- plus the blue color with green edging -- remind me so much of a sweater Rob used to have. It was a soft, warm cotton and sturdy. So, Sweater Weather it is.
