My most recent piece ("Ray") is a woven wall hanging inspired by abstract expressionist artist, painter Ray Parker. Parker was from the midwest and was most prolific in the 1950s and 60s. He was perhaps most well-known for his Simple Paintings in the color field style, described as featuring joyous, amoebic forms floating on a white background.
In color field painting, artists use color and form to express emotion. Does this piece conjure up any feelings?
